Theme: Advancing Dietetics Practise in Paediatric Nutrition
Welcome to the 24th National Conference of the Malaysian Dietitians’ Association! Once again we successfully organised our annual Conference, with the theme – “Advancing Dietetics Practise in Paediatric Nutrition” and keeping in line with MDA’s direction of achieving Professionalism, Competency, Visibility and Breakthrough.
Our theme this year is on paediatrics nutrition. Dietitians play a pivotal role in the detection, diagnosis and nutrition care of many paediatric diseases, often related to under-nutrition and faltering growth. An increasing number of children with a range of both acute and chronic diseases derive benefit from nutritional support. We chose this theme in order for dietitians to acquire knowledge and skills in order to provide effective nutrition and dietetic services so that children under their care will obtain optimum nutritional outcome. Therefore, dietitians are expected to keep abreast with the current development in this field.
