AI Workshop by Dr. Lee Chu Keong
From Text Files to ChatBots:
A Journey Through Natural Language Processing
In the near future, many libraries are expected to implement some form of chatbot to enhance user experience and improve information retrieval. Natural Language Processing (NLP) provides the foundation for these intelligent systems. This half day workshop aims to demystify the technology behind chatbots and equip participants with a fundamental understanding of how they work.
This workshop will take participants on a journey from handling text files using basic Python string methods to using specialized NLP modules for text pre-processing, and finally, to implementing unsupervised machine learning techniques on text data. The workshop will be structured in a demo-driven approach, ensuring that theoretical explanations are immediately reinforced through practical demonstrations.
