The Principals

Michael B. MorganPresident & CEO, was co-founder of Morgan Kaufmann Publishers, a respected book publisher in computer science. After merging the company with Academic Press in 1998, he then served as VP, Director of Book Publishing at Academic Press while continuing as CEO at Morgan Kaufmann until 2002, when he co-founded Morgan & Claypool.

Joel ClaypoolVice President & Publisher, has been in book publishing for more than 30 years, most recently with Academic Press/Elsevier Science. Joel’s career includes founding the development, acquisition and publication of the highly successful CRC Press engineering handbook and book program. He co-founded Morgan & Claypool in 2002.

Richard DorfChairman, is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Professor of the Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis. He is the author of numerous books including Modern Control Systems 9th ed, Prentice Hall, Introduction to Electric Circuits 5th ed, Wiley, and Technology, Humans and Society, Academic Press. Dick is also the editor for the CRC engineering handbook series and the volume editor for three of the best selling CRC Press handbooks.
