Annual Reviews was founded in 1932 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the most comprehensive and affordable scientific review literature to its readers. Annual Reviews publications operate as a high quality filter, prioritizing and synthesizing the primary research literature in 40 different disciplines for Biomedical, Life, Physical and Social Sciences. Via comprehensive review articles written by leading scholars, Annual Reviews serves scientists, researchers and students around the world by navigating the vast amount of primary research literature that is available to them.

All topics for review are selected by an editorial committee comprised of the most distinguished scholars for the discipline. As a result, each article is its search engine, providing a pathway to the essential primary research literature referenced within each topic.
